The featured Michigan State Spartans home alternate jersey was game issued to Byron Bullough as a member of the Spartans. In 2015, these dynamite alternate jerseys were worn for the September 12th game against the Oregon Ducks as well as the Maryland Terrapins game on November 14th. In 2016, this style jersey was also worn for a 49-0 rout over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on November 12th, 2016. The phalanx battle formation, perfected by ancient Spartan warriors, represents an impenetrable unified front and is known as one of the most feared tactical formations in history. The alternate Spartan football uniform brought this story to life, visually representing the phalanx when the team stands side-by-side on the field. Influenced by Spartan shields, bronze sleeve caps house the MSU logo and pay homage to the gridiron warriors homeland. The alternate jersey also features subtle bronze highlights throughout the design. Symbolic of MSUs on-field bravery, the Greek phrase, molon labe, is embroidered in the back collar of every jersey, echoing King Leonidass battle cry to come and get them as the Spartans take the field. The phrase dates back to 480 B. The Spartans logo displays prominently across the jersey neckline with BIG TEN Patch and Nike Logo. The lower left tail features a size 38 tag with L hangtag. Bullough has signed the back of the jersey and added his “#38″ in black. Unique jersey for a Michigan State Spartans Fan!!!
