None of the jerseys had nameplates as they had either been removed as many back then were re-used for other players or the jersey was designed for use but never worn. This jersey is most likely from 1988 or 1989 since it was a a Sand-Knit and I believe it was at least issued for Tony Eason and may have even been worn by him. This jersey also had a very different look and feel than any of the other jerseys I saw at the Tent Sale which may be because it’s a quarterback jersey. Eason was a first round draft pick in 1983 for the Patriots. He helped lead the Patriots to Superbowl XX for their first Superbowl ever and started in that game although he did not have a great performance. This jersey as did all the Tent Sale jerseys comes with a tag verifying what it is stating it as “Official Team Issued Equipment” and further saying This item is certified as authentic team issued equipment taken from locker-room storage. Player jerseys are designed to be used by NFL players in full pads, and are not standard retail cuts or sizes. The jersey may or may not have been used by by a player in an NFL game. Owning an item from the Patriots ProShop Game Worn Collection is owning. A piece of New England Patriots History. NOTE: The tag that comes with it is no longer attached to the jersey but will be included.
